The Non-resilient Kids Ride Guide for 2025

· by Lauren Downey · updated

Do you have sensory issues? Motion Sickness? Fear of the dark? Fear of heights? A dislike of being wet or want to be prepared? This guide focusing on Disney World parks and Universal parks is for you. Kids don’t like water park slides so I didn’t include a break down. They’ve been to Typhoon lagoon and Volcano Bay and mainly used the wave pools and lazy rivers on repeat. One tube ride was attempted at each with negative reviews. The fearless river at Volcano Bay at Universal was acceptable entertainment for non-resilient kids, but they can swim, lifejackets are required, and we had a buddy system so no one got left behind.

Some rides might be a skip but have an amazing feature to them that can still be magical. Examples of this would be touring Hogwarts castle in Universal and then exiting the castle before the ride part starts. Let an employee know and they will let you keep your bags (otherwise you must use a locker) and show you where the exit is located. Another example would be play areas for kids at the end of rides. In Disney World, Mission Space has a fun space themed play area that you can access from the exit. There is also usually air conditioning and seating for adults, plus fun merchandise themed to that ride. Other kid approved rides with play areas include Dumbo and Spaceship earth. Plan for extra time at the end of the Seas with Nemo for an extensive aquarium and kid approved entertainment.

P.S. We also tried Legoland Florida and didn't do every ride but spoiler alert: rides are very kid friendly (built for kids age 2-12). Lego fans should go, and find your favorites. We loved the Ninjago ride and The Lego Movie Masters of Flight.
